READ THIS FIRST!!!

What this package contains:

1.) An .xdelta patch for the Base Game itself,
2.) An .xdelta patch for the latest game update (V1.04),
3.) An .xdelta patch for each of the 5 Story DLCs.
4.) This Readme file.

What you'll need:

1.) Delta Patcher (latest version)(get it here): https://github.com/marco-calautti/DeltaPatcher
2.) Vita3k Emulator (preferrably the Windows PC Version)(get it here): https://vita3k.org/index.html
3.) The actual game files for Virtual-On Index, which includes the Base Game itself, the latest game update (v1.04) & the (optional) DLCs (you'll have to hunt these down yourself. Sorry.).
4.) A wired XBox360/Xbox One controller (or any similar controller) to actually play the game, if you don't have one already.

How to actually apply the translation patch to the game files:

Base Game:

1.) Open the Delta Patcher application.
2.) In the upper field (where it says "Original file:"), click on the folder icon to the right of it.
3.) Find your Vita3k emulator path & go to "ux0\app\PCSG01089\cpk", & select the "disc00.cpk" file.
4.) In the lower field (where it says "XDelta patch:"), click on the folder to the right of it.
5.) Find & select the "disc00.xdelta" file inside the "Virtual-On Index Vita3k English patches\Base Game" folder in this package.
6.) Click on "Apply patch."
7.) Finished!

Game Update v1.04:

1.) Repeat Steps 1 & 2 like before.
2.) Find your Vita3k emulator path & go to "ux0\app\PCSG01089\patch_cpk", & select the "Patch01.cpk" file.
3.) Repeat step 4 like before.
4.) Find & select the "Patch01.xdelta" file inside the "Virtual-On Index Vita3k English patches\1.04 Update" folder in this package.
5.) Click on "Apply patch."
6.) Done!

The Story DLCs:

The process for patching the Story DLCs is mostly the same, but this time the untouched DLC files are in "ux0\addcont\PCSG01089".

The 5 "Story" DLCs for Virtual-On Index are in the folders: "DLCXSMPXXXXXX000", "DLCXSMPXXXXXX001", "DLCXSMPXXXXXX002", "DLCXSMPXXXXXX003", and "DLCXSMPXXXXXX006". The game also had 3 other DLCs (DLCXSMPXXXXXX004, DLCXSMPXXXXXX005 & DLCXSMPXXXXXX007), but those are basically unlocker DLCs with no extra data in them. I took the liberty of naming the DLC .xdelta patch folders appropriately to avoid any potential confusion. In short:

Original folder: Original file name: .xdelta patch folder:
DLCXSMPXXXXXX000\data DLC_Story_A.cpk DLCXSMPXXXXXX000 (Story DLC 1)
DLCXSMPXXXXXX001\data DLC_Story_B.cpk DLCXSMPXXXXXX001 (Story DLC 2)
DLCXSMPXXXXXX002\data DLC_Story_C.cpk DLCXSMPXXXXXX002 (Story DLC 3)
DLCXSMPXXXXXX003\data DLC_Story_D.cpk DLCXSMPXXXXXX003 (Story DLC 4)
DLCXSMPXXXXXX004 N/A N/A
DLCXSMPXXXXXX005 N/A N/A
DLCXSMPXXXXXX006\data DLC_Story_E.cpk DLCXSMPXXXXXX006 (Story DLC 5)
DLCXSMPXXXXXX007 N/A N/A

By now, you should be able to patch the DLCs as well.

Fruently Asked Questions:

1.) Will you translate the PS4 version of Virtual-On Index as well?
Answer: I once thought about it a bit, but I soon decided against it. Sorry.

2.) Where can I find the actual game files for Virtual-On Index?
Answer: Sorry. I'm afraid I can't say. Like I said, You'll have to hunt those down yourself.

3.) How long have you been working on this project?
    Answer: Ever since November 2022. That's a little over 3 & 1/4 years.

4.) Will this work on a real PS Vita?
Answer: I really doubt it. This was originally intended as a Vita3k-only project.

5.) Will you distribute this patch for money?
Answer: Definitely NO. This is a strictly a for-fun project, & I refuse to get into any sort of legal trouble because of it.

6.) If I decide to post a gameplay video on Youtube, should I give original credit to you for the translation?
Answer: Definitely YES! By all means!

7.) A few words in the text are abbreviated. Why is that?
Answer: I intentionally abbreviated a few words so that they'd still fit inside the text boxes. Hope you'll understand.

8.) The "Dengeki Bunko" screen at the beginning is still untranslated. How come?
Answer: The reason for that is because Dengeki Bunko is an official company name, along with Sega. In addition, the other things I do not intend to translate are: the intro & ending AMV movies, the game's trophies, & the online manual for the game.

9.) Will you translate any other games?
    Answer: Nope.

10.) How/where can I find you?
Answer: You can find me on the official Virtual-On Discord server (Link:https://discord.gg/akrgGx9). Look for the user named, "The World - 2.0."
